About Merrigum
Merrigum is a town in the Goulburn Valley region of Victoria, within the City of Greater Shepparton and midway on the railway line between Kyabram and Tatura. The name is thought to come from an Aboriginal word meaning "little plain". The town lies in the Goulburn Valley irrigation district, where fruit growing and dairy farming are the main industries, and its museum preserves the district's agricultural and settlement history. Merrigum Post Office opened in 1875.
