About Woorinen South
Woorinen South is a town in the Rural City of Swan Hill in the Mallee region of north-west Victoria, about 12 km north-west of Swan Hill. The district was opened for orcharding in 1913 when the State Rivers and Water Supply Commission subdivided land for irrigation farms, with settlement following the extension of the railway line in 1915. It is a centre for stone fruit and dried fruit growing, and hosts an annual vintage machinery rally.
