About Beulah (Vic.)
Beulah is a small rural town in the southern Mallee region of Victoria, in the Shire of Yarriambiack, about midway between Warracknabeal and Hopetoun on the Henty Highway beside the Yarriambiack Creek. The townsite was proclaimed in 1891 as the Mallee lands were opened for closer settlement, and the railway from Warracknabeal arrived in 1893, making the town a grain collection centre. Known as the Centre of the Barleybelt, Beulah still serves the surrounding dryland farming country.
