About Williamstown (Vic.)
Williamstown is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 11 km (6.8 mi) south-west of the Melbourne central business district, within the City of Hobsons Bay. It served as the Settlement of Port Phillip's first anchorage and as a centre for port facilities until the late 19th century, and remains a working port and home of the Victorian Water Police.
