About Plumpton (Vic.)
Plumpton is a suburb on the north-western fringe of Melbourne, about 30 kilometres from the central business district in the City of Melton. The area was home to the Wathaurong people of the Kulin nation for at least 25,000 years before European settlement. Plumpton has remained largely rural and is being planned as a future growth area: the Plumpton Precinct Structure Plan, approved by the Victorian Minister for Planning in 2018, will guide the development of a residential community and employment precinct at the edge of the city's growth corridor.
