About Cranbourne North
Cranbourne North is a suburb in Melbourne's south-east, about 39 km from the central business district in the City of Casey, immediately north of Cranbourne. The name dates from the expansion of Cranbourne beyond Thompsons Road, and much of the suburb has grown since the 1990s, when the Merinda Park railway station opened on the newly electrified Cranbourne line in 1995. The Camden Green Estate, built on a former market garden, is one of the suburb's largest developments, and Cranbourne Golf Club lies within its boundary.
