About Strathbogie
Strathbogie is a small town on the Strathbogie Tableland in central Victoria, about 187 kilometres north of Melbourne and 31 kilometres south-east of Euroa. Named by Scottish immigrant John Kissock after the valley of the Bogie River in Aberdeenshire, the area was settled in the late 1830s for Merino sheep grazing and the broader shire is known as the Horse Capital of Victoria. The rugged terrain was used as a hideout by Ned Kelly's gang.
