About Ruffy
Ruffy is a rural locality on the Strathbogie Tablelands in central Victoria, straddling the border of the Shire of Strathbogie and the Shire of Murrindindi, about 175 km north of Melbourne. It is grazing country dotted with granite rock outcrops and waterways. Ruffy was the childhood home of Leslie Cecil Maygar, awarded the Victoria Cross in the Second Boer War, and its former primary school now serves as a community centre.
