About Heathcote South
Heathcote South is a rural locality in the Shire of Mitchell in central Victoria, about 117 kilometres north-west of Melbourne, lying south of the town of Heathcote. The district was part of the McIvor gold diggings, where prospectors gathered along Wild Duck Creek from 1853, and it supported a State primary school from 1875 until 1946. Today it is quiet farmland.
