About Ebden
Ebden is a locality in the City of Wodonga in north-east Victoria, about 15 km east of Wodonga on the banks of the Mitta Mitta arm of Lake Hume. It is named after Charles Hotson Ebden, an early pastoralist in the area who later served in the Victorian parliament. The explorers Hume and Hovell crossed the Mitta Mitta River nearby in November 1824, and a monument erected in 1924 marks the site.
