About Naracoopa
Naracoopa is a village on the east coast of King Island in Bass Strait, part of Tasmania, about 26 km east of the main town of Currie. The name, in use since 1914, is an Aboriginal word meaning good. Its jetty, built in 1915-16, served the island's shipping for decades and was saved from demolition and restored after a community campaign, reopening in 2010.
