About Alcomie
Alcomie is a rural locality in the Circular Head local government area of north-west Tasmania, about 14 kilometres south-east of the town of Smithton. The locality was gazetted in 1907, and its name is the Aboriginal term for beautiful view. The western part of the locality is farmland, while the south-east remains heavily timbered.
