About Triabunna

Triabunna is a coastal township on the east coast of Tasmania, with views of Maria Island, reached by a short passenger ferry ride from the town. Founded in 1830 as a station of the 63rd regiment and formerly known as Tenby, the township was gazetted as a locality in 1960. Triabunna is an Aboriginal Tasmanian word for the native-hen, and the surrounding area is known for its beaches, hills and eucalyptus forest.
