About Southwest
Southwest is a large rural locality in Tasmania covering most of the South West region, spanning parts of the Derwent Valley, Huon Valley, Central Highlands and West Coast local government areas. Much of the locality lies within the Southwest National Park, part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. Its central point, near the village of Strathgordon on Lake Pedder, is about 116 kilometres west of New Norfolk.
