About Southwest
South West Tasmania is a region in Tasmania that has evoked curiosity and wonder during the period of European presence on the island.[peacock prose] Initially relatively unexplored by Europeans, in the mid-twentieth century the area was considered for its potential resources for development. Much of the area is now protected within the Southwest National Park and as part of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area.
