About Bicheno
Bicheno is a town on the east coast of Tasmania, 185 kilometres north-east of Hobart on the Tasman Highway, in the Glamorgan-Spring Bay municipality. Named after James Ebenezer Bicheno, Colonial Secretary of Van Diemen's Land, the settlement grew from the whaling station at Waubs Harbour and is now a fishing port and beach resort known for its white beaches, the Bicheno Blowhole and the little penguin colony on nearby Diamond Island.
