About Hillwood

Hillwood is a small town about 25 km north of Launceston in Tasmania, set on the eastern bank of the Tamar River, where the Batman Highway heads off the East Tamar Highway towards the Batman Bridge. It is known for the pick-your-own Hillwood Berry Farm and Millers Orchard, and for Egg Island Point, with its boat ramp on the river. Nearby Hillwood Volcano, an extinct basalt outcrop with columnar rock formations, is popular with rock climbers, and the town's sports oval is home to the Hillwood Sharks Football Club.
