About Beauty Point
Beauty Point is a town on the western bank of the Tamar River in northern Tasmania, about 45 kilometres north of Launceston on the West Tamar Highway. It developed as the first deepwater port on the river, and today hosts Seahorse World, a working seahorse farm and aquarium, and Platypus House, which showcases platypuses and echidnas. The Australian Maritime College once operated here, and the sheltered marina makes the town a base for boating.
