About Primrose Sands
Primrose Sands is a seaside locality in south-east Tasmania, about 20 km south-east of Sorell, where the channel between Frederick Henry Bay and Norfolk Bay meets the coast. The settlement is largely made up of holiday homes, more than half of them unoccupied. Its name, in use by 1837, may come from native 'primrose' flowers, from crabs, or from the golden sand; the nearby point was charted by the d'Entrecasteaux expedition.
