About Lindisfarne

Lindisfarne is a residential suburb on Hobart's Eastern Shore about 6 km from the CBD in the City of Clarence, centred on Lindisfarne Bay, a sheltered anchorage on the River Derwent known for its sailing, rowing and motor-yacht clubs. Featuring Natone Hill with WWII-era bunkers and panoramic views, a recreation park with sports fields and an ANZAC memorial park containing a large Aboriginal midden, it is connected to Geilston Bay by the Clarence Foreshore Trail. Named after Holy Island in Northumberland, England, the suburb was formerly known as Beltana until 1903.
