About Wellington (SA)
Wellington is a township in South Australia on the Murray River, just upstream of where it empties into Lake Alexandrina, in the Rural City of Murray Bridge. Surveyed in November 1840, it was planned as an important river town, with the first town lots sold in July 1841. A ferry crossing of the river operates at Wellington.
