About Taldra
Taldra is a small settlement in the north-eastern Murray Mallee region of South Australia, adjoining the border with Victoria. The name is an Aboriginal word meaning kangaroo. The railway through the district opened in 1913 and closed in the 1980s, and the grain silos erected at the former station in the 1950s still stand in the town.
