About Old Teal Flat

Old Teal Flat is a tiny locality in the Mid Murray Council area of South Australia, on the Murray River between Purnong and Younghusband. It marks the site of the former Teal Flat landing, a stopping point for river steamers in the paddle-steamer era, when steamers such as the S.S. Nellie called on their way up and down the river. Today the locality is quiet river-bend country with no permanent population.
