About Naracoorte
Naracoorte is a town in the Limestone Coast region of South Australia, about 336 km south-east of Adelaide and 100 km north of Mount Gambier on the Riddoch Highway. It grew in the 1850s as a service centre for the Victorian gold rush and is best known today for the nearby Naracoorte Caves, a World Heritage fossil site preserving Australia's most complete record of extinct megafauna.
