About Inman Valley
Inman Valley is a locality on the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia, about 86 km south of Adelaide. It was named, along with the Inman River, after Inspector Henry Inman, founder and first commander of the South Australia Police, who pursued escaped convicts through the valley in 1838. The locality is known for Selwyn Rock, a glaciated pavement in the bed of the Inman River, and its land is today used for grazing, dairy farming, forestry and horticulture.
