About German Flat
German Flat is a rural locality in the Limestone Coast region of South Australia. A school opened here in 1871 with twenty-two pupils, was renamed Benara Flat in 1918 during the anti-German name changes of the First World War, and closed in 1959. The surrounding country is open farmland on the plains near the coast.
