About Binnum
Binnum is a rural locality in the Limestone Coast region of South Australia, about 300 kilometres south-east of Adelaide in the Naracoorte Lucindale Council area, near the border with Victoria. The name comes from an Aboriginal term meaning 'plenty of shea-oaks'. Binnum lay on the former Mount Gambier railway line between Naracoorte and Wolseley, which closed on 12 April 1995.
