About Big Bend
Big Bend is a locality in the Mid Murray Council area of South Australia, on the Murray River between Swan Reach and Nildottie. The river here curves into its longest single bend, at the Big Bend cliffs, which are the tallest cliffs along the entire Murray River. The limestone cliffs are rich with marine fossils and are home to colonies of bats, and a lookout beside the river offers views across the bend.
