About Ashbourne (SA)
Ashbourne is a small historic town in the Alexandrina Council area of South Australia, approximately 43 kilometres south-east of Adelaide and 14 kilometres from Strathalbyn. The town was laid out in 1865 and is known for its cricket club, established in 1895, whose black clay soil was originally used to prepare the Adelaide Oval pitches.
