Yumbarra

About Yumbarra

Yumbarra is a remote, sparsely populated locality in the Far West of South Australia, north of Ceduna, made up almost entirely of the Yumbarra Conservation Park, formerly the Yumbarra National Park. The park, created in 1968, covers rolling red sand dunes and low shrubland and is named after Yumbarra rock hole, one of many granite waterholes in the area that fill after rain. It shelters malleefowl, sandhill dunnarts and southern hairy-nosed wombats, and is co-managed with the Far West Coast Aboriginal Corporation.
