About Chandada
Chandada is a rural locality on the upper Eyre Peninsula in South Australia, located about 464 kilometres from Adelaide and 43 kilometres east of Streaky Bay in the District Council of Streaky Bay. Settled from the 1850s, the area developed into a well-known grain growing and agricultural district. Its history is documented in Chandada Run: A History of the Chandada District, a 272-page book by Jim Cronin published in 1986 recording the hardships of early settlers. Chandada Pioneer Park on the Streaky Bay Highway features historic pioneer relics.
