About Tarcowie
Tarcowie is a small town in the Mid North of South Australia, with a name derived from the Ngadjuri Aboriginal word meaning place of washaway water. Named by Governor Musgrave in 1875, the township grew from the Tarcowie Head Station established on the original Pekina Run, and the historic former Stagg Farm Complex on the Tarcowie to Appila Road is listed on the South Australian Heritage Register.
