About Port Vincent

Port Vincent is a small seaside town on the east coast of Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, situated 194 kilometres from Adelaide by road. Established in 1877 and originally known as Surveyor's Point, the town served as a major port for exporting wheat, barley and wool from the surrounding farming district until the advent of road transport in the late 1940s. Port Vincent was named Australia's Tidiest Town in 2004 and today features a marina operated by the Cruising Yacht Club of South Australia, making it a popular destination for boating and fishing.
