About Morphettville
Morphettville is an established residential suburb in the City of Marion in metropolitan Adelaide, South Australia, situated approximately 9 kilometres south-west of the Adelaide central business district. The suburb is dominated by the Morphettville Racecourse, the home of South Australian thoroughbred horse racing, and features a mix of post-war housing, medium-density development and the Sturt River corridor running through the southern portion. Both the suburb and the racecourse are named after Sir John Morphett, a prominent early settler.
