About Willaston
Willaston is a northern suburb in the Town of Gawler, about 39 kilometres northeast of Adelaide. Laid out in 1848 by William Paxton using wealth from the Burra Burra copper mines, the village may have been named after Willaston in Cheshire, England. It retained its own identity and services until being annexed to Gawler in 1933.
