About Sampson Flat
Sampson Flat is a semi-rural locality in the City of Playford, about 30 kilometres north-east of Adelaide. Formerly known as Sampson's Flat, the area is a mix of open pasture and scattered trees with denser scrub on higher ground, draining west into the Little Para Reservoir catchment. It was the ignition point of the 2015 Sampson Flat bushfire, which burned through 12,500 hectares across the Adelaide Hills.
