About Castambul
Castambul is a locality in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia, about 20 km from Adelaide. Originally named Sixth Creek, it was renamed by pastoralist Price Maurice after Kastamonu in Turkey, where he imported Angora goats. The site of Australia's first payable gold mine, the Victoria Mine, is located here and is heritage listed.
