About Tirroan

Tirroan is a rural locality in the Bundaberg Region, about 4 kilometres west-south-west of Gin Gin in the Wide Bay hinterland. The name derives from Tirroan Station, one of the first British pastoral runs in the district, established by Gregory Blaxland Jnr and William Forster in 1848. The area supports sugarcane farming and cattle grazing on fertile volcanic soils.
