About Malmoe

Malmoe is a rural locality in the North Burnett Region of Queensland, located about 385 kilometres north-northwest of Brisbane and 17 kilometres southeast of Eidsvold along the Burnett Highway. The landscape features undulating countryside with the Burnett River flowing along the southern boundary and Spring Hill (296 metres) as the main elevated feature. Established by German settler families, the area has a strong pastoral heritage, with a German Apostolic Church opened in 1912 and a historic church cemetery. The railway station operated from 1924 on the Mungar Junction to Monto line until its closure in 2012.
