About Cedar Pocket

Cedar Pocket is a rural locality about 12 kilometres east-south-east of Gympie in the Wide Bay region. Named for the red cedar trees found in wet forests along creeks and gullies, settlement began in 1871 and the rich soils support maize, vegetables and dairying. The Cedar Pocket School of Arts opened in 1920 is on the Gympie Local Heritage Register.
