About Beeron
Beeron is a rural locality in the Wide Bay region of Queensland, located in the North Burnett Region with the Mundubbera to Durong Road running through the north-west. The Boyne River, a tributary of the Burnett River, forms the north-eastern boundary, and Beeron National Park, covering 7,050 hectares and established in 2009, occupies the south-eastern corner in the Brigalow Belt bioregion preserving plant species of high conservation value. The name derives from a pastoral run held in 1856 by William Strathdee, written as Beerone in 1872 and simplified to Beeron by 1878.
