About Diamantina Lakes

Diamantina Lakes is an outback locality in the Shire of Diamantina in western Queensland, on the Channel Country flood plains of the Diamantina River, which flows through the locality towards Lake Eyre when in flood. The Diamantina and Astrebla Downs national parks occupy parts of the locality, which takes its name from the Diamantina Lakes pastoral station established in 1875.
