About Bulloo Downs

Bulloo Downs is a rural locality in the Shire of Bulloo, Queensland, on the border with New South Wales. The name comes from Bulloo Downs Station, the district's first settlement, taken up in 1864. A party from the Burke and Wills expedition camped here in 1861, and the heritage-listed grave of the expedition's naturalist Dr Ludwig Becker lies on the Bulloo River.
