About West Prairie
West Prairie is a farming locality on the Darling Downs, roughly 66 kilometres north-west of Toowoomba. The name originates from a pastoral run established by Henry Stuart Russell in 1855, and the area remains characterised by broadacre cropping and grazing on the region's fertile black-soil plains. The nearest major service centre is Toowoomba.
