About Tannymorel
Tannymorel is a rural town in the Southern Downs Region, about 27 kilometres east-south-east of Warwick near the NSW border. The Irish-origin name means bend in the creek, and the town was originally a timber and coal-mining centre. Situated in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range on the fertile Southern Downs tablelands, it retains its heritage war memorial unveiled by Governor Matthew Nathan in 1922.
