About Goombi

Goombi is a rural locality in the Western Downs Region of Queensland, situated west of Chinchilla and approximately 340 kilometres north-west of Brisbane. The locality is notable as the western terminus of the Darling Downs-Moreton Rabbit Board fence, a 555-kilometre pest-exclusion barrier that stretches from Lamington National Park in the east and protects farming land in southern Queensland from rabbit incursions. The area supports broadacre cropping and grazing.
