About Captains Mountain
Captains Mountain is a sparsely settled rural locality in the Toowoomba Region on Queensland's western Darling Downs, roughly 95 kilometres south-west of Toowoomba. The locality takes its name from the prominent mountain feature rising to 610 metres in its north-east, and the Gore Highway passes through connecting it to Millmerran and the broader Downs network. The landscape is broad-acre country used primarily for cattle grazing and dryland cropping.
