About Yulara
Yulara is a town in the southern region of the Northern Territory, about 428 km south-west of Alice Springs and 18 km by road from the World Heritage Site of Uluru, with Kata Tjuta about 55 km beyond. It was proclaimed a new town in 1976 to move tourist accommodation away from the base of the rock, and the resort built in 1982-84 remains the main base for visitors to the national park.
