About Wagait Beach
Wagait Beach is a locality on the north coast of the Cox Peninsula in the Northern Territory, on the far side of Darwin Harbour about 8 kilometres west of Darwin, and part of the Wagait Shire. It can be reached by a 15-minute passenger ferry to nearby Mandorah followed by a bicycle path, or by a 128-kilometre road journey around the harbour. During the Second World War a military base and observation tower were established nearby at Waugite Point after the bombing of Darwin.
