About Tablelands (NT)
Tablelands is a locality in the Barkly region of the Northern Territory, about 858 kilometres south-east of the territory capital of Darwin. The locality covers much of the Barkly Tableland, a vast area of Mitchell grass plains and cattle stations east of Tennant Creek, and its name is derived from that region. The locality boundaries and name were gazetted on 4 April 2007.
