About Nganmarriyanga
Nganmarriyanga, formerly known as Palumpa, is an Aboriginal community in the Daly River region of the Northern Territory, about 362 kilometres south-west of Darwin on unsealed roads accessible only from around May to December. Established after World War Two by the Wodidj family who returned to the area, the community is home to the Murrinh Patha language group and has a community store, health clinic, school and sports facilities. Palumpa cattle station, owned by traditional owners, operates nearby with a modern abattoir.
